Car slams into bridge killing a man

This morning a man was killed after his light motor vehicle crashed into a bridge on Mahogany Road in Pinetown, KwaZulu Natal.

Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the wrecked light motor vehicle lying on a grassy embankment.

The man was carefully extricated from the vehicle and immediately assessed.

Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his multiple, fatal injuries and he was declared dead on the scene.

It is understood that the driver lost control of the vehicle as he drove around the corner, causing the vehicle to slam into the bridge.

The wet roads was believed to be a contributing factor to the cause of the collision.

Local authorities will be investigating further.
