DA calls on Zuma to take responsibility for Nkandla funds

The Democratic Alliance said nobody must pay back President Jacob Zuma’s portion of the R246 million of public funds used for the Nkandla upgrades but Zuma himself. 

This as a report on Sunday revealed that KwaZulu-Natal tycoon Philani Mavundla has offered to raise funds and settle President Jacob Zuma's debt over the security upgrades. 

DA Chairperson of the Federal Executive James Selfe said resident Zuma must lead and take full responsibility for his action. 

Selfe said Indeed President Zuma is on record as stating that corruption is a Western paradigm, but as President of a Constitutional democracy, President Zuma can not allow any other South African to absolve him from his personal liability in this matter.

Selfe said Jacob Zuma must lead and take full responsibility for his actions that saw the abuse of public funds at Nkandla.

”The DA maintains that Jacob Zuma, and only Jacob Zuma, must pay back every single rand owing at Nkandla Selfe added.
