Today Cultural Affairs and Sport Minister, Dr Nomafrench Mbombo, will be launching the IsiShweshwe Traveling exhibition at the Lwandle Migrant Labour Museum as part of the 2014 Heritage Month celebrations.

The exhibition celebrates the beauty of isiShweshwe clothes, from street wear to costumes which carry deep cultural significance.

Gwarube said it traces the history of isiShweshwe, and its indigo print cloth predecessors, and celebrates the richness of the ways that it is used in contemporary dress in South Africa.

“Minister Mbombo will be taking this exhibition to the people of Lwandle and it will make its way across the province in different museums Gwarube added.
