A man died after being hit by a car near Umhlanga

A man has tragically died after he was hit by a car on the M4 North near the Umhlanga off ramp this morning.

A report from the scene indicates that the man tried to run across the busy highway when he landed in front of a vehicle traveling on the North bound lane.

ER24 Spokesperson Chris Botha said when paramedics arrived on scene the man had died due to his injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are unknown at this stage and the police are investigating.
